BioThane is a coated webbing that is waterproof, easy to clean, and fade resistant. Not only is it incredibly durable, but it also won't hold odors like other kinds of webbing. We use Beta BioThane, which has a very soft feel, often compared to worn leather. It is superior to leather in many ways, since it is stronger and even more durable. For dogs that love to get dirty and explore, BioThane is the ultimate webbing for the job!

BioThane cleans easily with warm water and a mild detergent. Using a sponge can help lift dirt and small particles from the surface. As a best practice, you should always dry your gear to remove excess moisture before storing.

When dealing with brass, you may see some discoloration known as patina. This is a natural process caused by oxidation and is non-destructive. Prolonged water use is a main cause of this process which is why we recommend drying your gear after use in water.

Both brass and stainless steel are great options! A lot of this comes down to personal preference and taste.

Brass is a great option for those looking for a more classic look. It also holds up great in a variety of conditions, even saltwater. The downside to brass is that it will eventually patina, causing surface stains. While this can be taken care of with proper cleaning, many customers may prefer a lower-maintenance option like stainless steel.

Due to its's higher strength, I usually recommend stainless steel for larger dogs, or dogs that have a tendency to pull.

All receipts are delivered digitally so we try and save paper by not including printouts for your shipment. The exception to this is for international orders, which will have printed receipts to make sure there are no issues with customs. If you are in the US and would like a printed copy of your receipt let us know! We would be happy to include it, but just know it is always available to you digitally through your 49th State Kennels account or your email.

We charge a flat rate of $9.50 within the USA, with the option to ship free on orders over $150. For international orders, shipping cost is calculated at checkout. Because the items are all handmade, please refer to the announcement bar for the most up to date ship out estimations. If for any reason you need the items by a specific date, please email us to let us know before placing the order.

All domestic orders come with tracking, but unfortunately due to increased cost we are unable to provide this for international orders unless they select the appropriate shipping level.

For international orders, the buyer is responsible for all import and customs fees that may occur as this is out of our hands.

Current processing times are listed in the announcement bar at the top of our home page. Since all items are made by hand, we usually need ten business days to make and ship your order. During sales and the holiday season, our wait time may be slightly longer than usual. In many cases we can ship faster if needed. Please email us with your order number if you need your order to be shipped sooner and we will do our best to accommodate!

We are currently revamping the website to reflect the store front, the products we carry, and policies. If you purchase anything in our store front; there are multiple signs stating 'All sales are final, no refunds, no refunds, no returns, no ragrets.' The 'no ragrets is a movie reference from We're the Millers' movie. Your receipt from the store front also states "Return Policy: All sales are final - No refunds, no exchanges, and no regrets. You & your dog need awesome dog gear and we're here to support you!"

Please note, we do not allow returns for any BioThane products as these are all custom-made items.

For custom (all BioThane) products, please reach out if you have any questions before ordering. If you would like to preview a color palette we can assist with that to make sure your design is to your liking. It is also important to note that it is the buyer's responsibility to properly measure their dog. Please verify that you are measuring correctly for the item you are buying as we do not accept returns if the wrong size is ordered. International (non-U.S.) orders are also not eligible for returns.

Giving back is very important to us. We currently make monthly donation to the Alaska Dog and Puppy Rescue, and we are proud to support them! We also regularly participate in fundraisers for other local animal rescue groups.
